- What figures power the calculator?
- New prices are based on public B2B list prices for representative models (Dell Latitude, MacBook Air, Galaxy A55, iPad). Refurbished prices are the B2B medians of the OPP! Shop catalog for grades AB to B. CO2 ratios come from the ADEME Base Empreinte database.
- Why does refurbished equipment save so much?
- A refurbished device is sourced from companies renewing their fleets, then restored in our workshop in Nantes. The costly manufacturing phase has already been paid for. You pay for the equipment's residual value, not the cost of a new product.
- Is the CO2 avoided really significant?
- Yes: manufacturing accounts for 60 to 80% of an IT device's carbon footprint (raw material extraction, production energy, transport). Extending its life through refurbishment avoids that phase for a new cycle, which is where these figures come from.
- Do these savings count in our CSRD reporting?
- Absolutely. Extending equipment life and refurbishment are recognized indicators for CSRD reporting (ESRS E5 on resource use and circular economy). On request, we provide an annual summary with figures for your audits.
